His goal? Help entrepreneurs and small businesses minimize legal risk and make better decisions.
His strategy? Build and operate a platform creating the means of connection and facilitating value exchange between entrepreneurs and small businesses, and lawyers specializing in various areas. General Counsel Online will leverage artificial intelligence to offload all but the lawyers’ advice and counsel and, in that way, allow the firm to scale while keeping prices fixed and reasonable.
I met him one afternoon about six months ago. He said something that stayed with me. To paraphrase:
“When new lawyers join my platform, I tell them, “This is it.” In other words, this is as good as it gets. They’re on this platform to do their best work helping startups and small businesses. They are not here just to fill time until ‘WHAT THEY REALLY WANT TO DO’ comes along. And he only works with lawyers who can sincerely operate at that level.”
“This is it.” When somebody is talking about bringing their best self to work and doing their best work, they’re talking about this.
